North Korea, South Korea join hands to bid 2032 Olympic Games

North Korea and South Korea have joined hands to host Summer Olympics in 2032. As per report, Korea has sent a letter to International Olympic Committee (IOC) to make sure they’re bidding for co-hosting Olympic Games 2032. India and Indonesia are the other two bidders to host the gala event after Los Angeles in 2028.

Both countries are not only bidding in combine for Olympic Games but also both teams to compete in Tokyo Summer Olympics 2020 together. After the meeting in Korean region, sports officials also confirmed that a combined team from North and South Korea would play in World Handball Championship in January 2019.



“The plan is to organise friendly competitions marking meaningful anniversaries between the South and North, for example the first anniversaries of the (April) inter-Korean summit and the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics,” as aying by South Korean Vice Sports Minister Roh Tae-kang.



IOC is expected to announce the host of 2032 summer games in 2025. However games have never seen a singled edition hosted by multiple hosts but sports’ biggest governing council will welcome Korean partnership.

South and North Korea athletes marched together at the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics opening ceremony with unified peninsula flag. Also both countries sent combine team for Asian Games 2018 in Indonesia.
